What Happens Inside the Workshop

When you arrive for your engagement ring workshop, you’ll start by unbagging your metal — typically gold, or platinum — along with any diamonds, gemstones, and their mountings for the style you are creating. From there, you’ll move through the following steps with hands-on guidance at every stage:

• Planning — Measure your materials, pencil out the plan and get aligned on what you will be making.
• Sizing — Cut down your material to length.
• Forming — Shape your metal round.
• Soldering — Use a jeweler’s torch to join the band, and attach the mounting.
• Hammer Round — Hammer round and check for size.
• File & Sanding — Remove the solider seam and tool marks with a variety of file & sanding tools.
• Texturing — Choose a hammered, smooth high-polish, or satin finish.
• Setting your stone — This is where the professionals will step in and set the stone for you.
• Polishing — Bring out the full brilliance of your finished ring.
• Inside Ring Engraving — We can also add a short, special (alphanumeric) message inside of the ring.

The workshop typically runs 4 to 6 hours. You’ll leave with the finished ring, the memory of making it, and a story that starts before the proposal even happens.
