Customize Your Wedding Ring
If you are interested in attending our DIY Wedding Ring Workshop, you will have a unique opportunity to custom create your own rings. You can customize the width to a degree not usually possible when purchasing premade wedding rings. When you make your own wedding ring you not only need to know the finger size but also how wide you would like the ring. Check out the different options below and the anatomy of a ring profile.
Custom Wedding Rings + Made by You
When building your ring, the width of your band is completely your preference, there is no right or wrong. However, the width will impact the weight and feel of the band, in addition to expressing your own specific style. Check out the descriptions and pictures on this page to help you find the size that is right for you.
Widths Recommended for the DIY Workshop
- 2 mm: The thinnest ring you’d want to make for a wedding ring. Thinner than 2MM will be prone to bending.
- 3 mm: A traditional width that works well when placed with an engagement ring or when looking for something very dainty. This width is also perfect for engraving on the inside of the ring.
- 4 mm: Medium, the more common selection for a stand-alone women’s ring or for men wanting a slim style.
- 6 mm: Not the largest possible, but is good and wide for a bigger hand or stronger presence.
- 7 mm: A large, wide band for a very substantial look. Offers more surface area for texturing.
- 8 mm: A big ring for a big hand! This will be a very thick and heavy wedding ring.
Custom Wedding Ring Profile Options
In addition to width, the profile options in the make your own wedding can give you another layer of customization. Half-round is the most popular and default option in the DIY workshop. In instances where stone setting is desired, a flat profile is necessary. A comfort fit profile is good for the larger, wider-width rings. When applying textures or setting stones, some profiles will be more appropriate than others to reach your desired outcome. Comfort fit rings will usually be thicker but also more comfortable.
